Video Ethnography

Pinny is a leading expert in using video for ethnographic research and a Senior Freelance Consultant at Tell Tale Research and Do You Research. For the last decade she and has worked on a variety of in-depth ethnographic research projects in both the commercial and social research sectors. Major clients have included Ipsos Mori Ethnography and Policy Lab at the Cabinet Office in London.

Social research projects have included The Windrush White Paper, Refugee Integration, Tackling Homelessness and Disability Access, all for government. Other studies include UNICEF Childhood Wellbeing, Money Advice Service, and The Royal Foundation Early Years Study.

As foremost expert in this field she has delivered lectures and workshops at universities across the UK. She is an Associate Lecturer in ethnographic and documentary filmmaking in the department of Anthropology, University College London.
